Police Accountability
After passage of the Community Safety Act (CSA) our work now is to continue to put pressure on the city to enforce the CSA and support the effective functioning of the Providence External Review Authority (PERA) a civilian review board of the police who can take complaints and help hold the police accountable to the provisions of the CSA. We will organize members to attend the PERA meetings and mobilize with our allies; we are following the leadership of our sister organization, PrYSM, on this work.
The ordinance was renamed the Providence Police Community-Relations Act prior to passage.
